hi, new to this site, curious...my '99 pontiac grand am isnt throwing out any heat, on heater or defrost. the a/c is fine, (except for the first 2 speeds, which i know what i need to do to fix that). the thing, is i'm not getting any heat. could it be that i need to replace the "thermostat"? the car has not overheated, it stays in the middle, mostly on 200. but today as i tried to use the heater i did notice that it (temp) went up just a bit more than usual. thanks for ur help. jake

Yeah, have fun changing the blower resistor. Changed mine last month, I should have removed the pass seat to get to it easier.
I would say it's the thermostat. If it hasn't been changed yet, you'll need to do it anyway.

:iceslolan sure thing...i was informed by a very reliable electrical mechanic friend that owns his own shop, he said it's a module that usually seems to go out on either/or both first and second speeds. he said it goes under the drivers side dash, he told me exactly where...but i wasnt paying attention. ( i can find out though) and he said it goes for around $30.00 usually u can get it from the dealer. which i still havent seemed to make the time nor the effort to call and find out. but he said it was no big deal in either getting it or replacing it. i finally changed out my thermostat, and it was a pain in the a--! but i finally got it done. finally got some heat, and just in time too....cold front coming in tomorrow nite. well good luck dude.
