I just got the new 06 350z. I was just wondering what the difference between the 287 HP and 300 HP cars.

Biggest difference you might notice if you are tuning the engine or adding some gauges, is the wideband O2 sensors.
If buying a Air/fuel gauge watch out for that (I didn't:banghead: )

The 300hp VQ35DE is a new version called the 'Rev Up.' It revs higher, up to a full 7000rpm(vs 6400rpm in other versions). Changes include:

*A revised intake system
*Stronger internals(connecting rods and crankshaft)
*Exhaust Continuously Variable Cam Timing(vs just on the intake side in other versions)

The engine produces 300hp and 269lb-ft. Although the peak torque figure is lower than the older version, it is produced across a wider rpm range. The higher redline also allows a driver to stay in a certain gear longer, which is useful on a race course.

The 287hp varieties redline at 6600rpm, not 6400. The new rev-up produces 260ft-lbs of torque, not 269.
