I little background first, I just purchased this 89 S10 Blazer, 4 X 4, with a 4.3 engine. the temperature gauge does not work at all. I have flushed the system and put in a new sensor that goes to the computer and need to locate the other sensor.
I give up, :banghead: I can't find the second temperature sensor, or where it goes. I found the one that go to the computer, but not the one that goes to the temperature gauge. I thought it was between the first and second sparkplugs on the passenger side of the engine. I think they took it out and plugged the hole. When I look down between the two spark plugs I see the plugs then two bolts next to each plug, but a little lower. I little higher i see what looks like a big set screw, you would remove with an allen wrench, and nothing else. I do have a loose wire hanging there. Before I start pulling things out, i could use some help on this. Is it the set screw that i need to take out? or Am i looking in the wrong place? Any help would be appreciated.

My guess it will be that set screw you are talking about. On my 92 it is in the same spot on the passenger side as yours. In fact i just did mine last week, the temp gauge in the dash was jumping all over the place. You will know for sure when you back it out and see coolant pouring out.
