I have a 93 tracker 2wd but i would like to convert it to 4wd. how hard would that be? has anyone done it? Is it possible to do or do i need to do some fabricatating? well thanks for any help.

You can if you want to add: a front axle and axle mounting brackets, front driveshaft, swap the output shaft housing on the transmission, add a transfer case, and a shorter driveshaft..this is a start..

would be cheaper to find a good used 4wd then to convert over

It might also be easier to set your body and interior on a 4wd chassis. Like corning-d3 said, there's a lot of parts you'll need to come up with, i.e. a relatively complete junker vehicle to use as an organ donor, plus a lot of time, energy and money. I thought about doing the same with a '78 2wd Blazer, instead I bought a 4x4 F-150.
