I have the same problem, i think these cars are junk by the looks of it. Good luck finding an answer. I have no 4 wheel drive and no heat.

No leaks I guess, right? My first clue that my water pump was going was a lack of heat...then the gallon of antifreeze on the ground--make sure your fluid is topped right up.

Good luck

I am currently elbows-deep in my coolant system, searching for the same culprit you are. However, in addition to my heater core not working, I have to hold my breath every time I must restart the engine after driving short distances! Has anyone had a similar problem and resolved it themselves?

When I had no heat it was due to a bunch of sludge in my coolant system, took about 5 rounds of highpressure to make it come out as clean water, old neighborhood so water pressure is actually around 125psi (normal is 50 - 80).

In the case of all that maintenance, I would say your heatercore is still clogged... as long as the mixing door still works.

Hey thanks for the tip, at the end of the day I had the same problem, but just to be safe I went ahead and replaced the thermostat. Might as well, as long as I was in there.
