skylark idles rough upon start up

I have a 1996 Skylark with a 4.3L engine. Upon start up engine idle fluxuates up and down. It does this for a few minutes then levels off to a normal idle while the engine is warm. When the engine gets completely cold it acts up again. If I try before engine is warm it spudders leaving me to pump the accelerater to prevent it from dying. Can somebody give me an idea or two of what to check?? I am thinking automatic choke????

Our car is having the same problem. It's not low on gas. lol Any ideas?

Have you checked for a vacuum leak? Look at the hose to your pcv valve and make sure it's seated on the valve and the valve is seated in the valve cover. Mine came loose once and it ran rough and stalled until I discovered the hose.
