I just have a quick quesiton for you folks.

I used to be a Sirius subscriber with my truck until it was totaled and I bought my GP.

I am considering getting it again (Raido sucks and CD's get old). If anyone has it, I wonder what you employ. I don't want to get a new dash CD player becuase the OEM is just fine. The outside models just seem like they will get in the way.

Any recommendations, comments?

Thanks.

Yeah, they have models which will intergrate with OEM stereos. I don't want some stupid in-dash CD player like last time with my truck.

However, I don't want any stupid thing sticking out or mounted into the dash. So, I wanted to know if anyone had a satellite system and what worked for them.

In today's WSJ they stated that Sirius is coming out with a new IPOD like system that will download Sirius programming and you can replay it. Also, it's a portable Satellite radio system. I am curious as to how that would all work. It would be nice in a boring Operationg Management or Financial Accounting class to be by a window and listening to music.

Anyways.

The question I have is which is better Sirius or XM. Doesn't Sirius have better sports coverage. I was thinking about getting one them too. What are they charging now including any additional charges?

I don't know much about either radio company, but from what I understand get a reciever kit with a built in FM modulator if using a stock head unit. Then you just tune your head unit to one of a dozen FM channels that will pick up your satellite radio feed. Right now XM is selling a model called a Roadie 2 for $30 (actual price, no rebates!) with a FM modulator. I'm tempted to buy one, but my wife might kill me buying toys this close to Christmas :)

I personally thought Sirius was a better package all around. XM has the larger subscriber base because of getting on board early with GM.

They do have every NFL game on, which is basically the AM feed over satellite. Also, I thought the music selection was better.

You will generally get the same thing with either company in terms of general music, talk and sports talk format. The differences really lie in the variety of music you will get and which sports teams they have signed on to the respective companies.
