Anyone know of any good performance upgrades for a 2000 cougar?

Its a automatic with the 2.5L V6, Ive been looking and have found stuff but Im not sure what I should start out with, I dont want to ruin the gas millage to bad. I would like to turbo or even supercharge it but the only ones I can find are electronic. Any advice would be aperciated.

The automatic transmission is really whats holding you back. The supercharger or turbo kit made for the Cougar wont fit on your car due to the automatic transmissions size. Not to mention, it wouldnt handle the power at all.

Vortech did make a supercharger kit for the Cougar. Its since has been discontinued due to reliability issues. They still float around on the cougar/contour classifieds on www.contour.org and www.newcougar.com <---Real Enthusiasts websites.

Thanks, I just dont know where to start with it, thats my problum hah. Alot of my family and friends are machanics but they usually only do old cars so they arnt a big help with this hah.
