6 bolt swap

Ok, before you jump down my throat, I DID A SEARCH. I found no useful information and decided to ask. That said, heres my questions.
My Cavalier will soon be sold to my brother and then its time for me to get a DSM. I was going to get a 90-91 because I think they look badass, they are cheap, and they have a 6 bolt. Well, now after realizing that a good clean unfucked with 90-91 is getting hard to come by. I have kind of decided to open up to 2g's with either high miles, blown engines, or 6 bolt swaps. My overall goals are a 10 second pass and or 450-500 hp (yes lofty I know, but you gotta have a dream ;)) and if I were to get a 2g a 6 bolt would eventually go in there, so I figured a high milage/blown one would be cheaper and that engine would be coming out soon anyway. My questions are reguarding a 6 bolt swap. Would the engine just drop in, or would there be some fabrication? What parts would i need to do the swap? Would a 2g tranny bolt up to a 6 bolt? Would the 2g tranny be as "good" as the 1g tranny? What 6 bolt parts are better and what 2g parts are better?
Now for your opinions. I started off after a 97-99 GSX. Then it shifted to a 90-91 Talon/Eclipse because they are cheaper and they have 6 bolts. So what would you guys do in my shoes? Hold out for the 90-91 or get a 2g (the 2g will get a 97-99 Eclipse conversion)? The 2g will cost more, take more work for me to do the 6 bolt and 97-99 swap, and cost more for insurance, but the 1g will probably take more time to find one close. Right now I am thinking 1g, what do you think? Thanks guys.

the 6-bolt is a great swap and it requires very minimal modification, depending on which route you take. i suggest the magnus route because you don't have to drill the oil pump at all, just trim the motor mount bracket.

I say go with a 2g, i like both but i think the 2g's look better. But if you want a 1g I'd say waite and keep looking don't settle for something you don't really want. As far as insurance mine only went up $50 a year from my talon to my eclipse (that's liability only).

If your looking for cheap 2g i would go with the TSI AWD rather than the GSX

2g's look so much sexier. If you do get one and drop in a 6 bolt, keep your 2g tranny and just build it up too. That's my plans at least. lol

Wow, thanks guys! I was expecting some shit, I appreciate the positive feedback. I guess if the 6 bolt swap is that easy and insurance doesnt change much, I may go that route. My parents dont like Mikes 91 Talon, but they are fine with me getting a 2g :screwy: (thats what I told them my plans were last). I do like the 97-99 eclipses, they are so sexy. Well, for now the plan is to look out for a good clean car, but more for a 2g Talon and do the 6 bolt swap, I have seen them go for not much more than a 1g. That might be the better route since they have stronger tranny's and rear ends.
I was planning on a 2.3l stoker, FP2 cams, ported, polished, and built head, 900-1000 cc injectors, 255lph fuel pump, dsm link, big front mount, a SBR 60 trim (not the 60-1, the "true" 60 trim), a 50-80 shot of nitrous, weight reduction and all the other stuff I forgot. In an AWD car, assuming I am a decent driver and I use the nitrous, what kind of an ET can I expect? What about hp?
I know those plans my change, and I may not end up with what I eventually want, but so far, thats my goal. Again, thanks for your help guys.
