I posted a thread a while back about tuning the greddy type s and I just go around to doing it today and I ran into something weird. According to the instrustions your supposed to run the motor at the lowest vacuum that you can manage(isnt that idle) and the valve is supposed to lift up slightly and thats supposed to be it. Well it never happened with mine even if I turned it all the way soft but when i revved it it made a fluttering noise but it wasnt coming from my bov it sounded like it was coming back up my intake from my turbo. What would cause this? Even vented my bov wouldnt move, is that normal?

Aslo I havent started my car for a week or so because its being stored but when I started it today it looked like coolant was coming out along the gasket between the turbo and manifold but it only did it for a few seconds then stopped, should that be cause to worry?

Isn't that compressor surge? Maybe you're turning it the wrong way. Also make sure the lower nipple is NOT capped. This thread has a lot of info.

My guess is the vacuum source to the BOV is either not hooked up correctly or it's pinched off somewhere not giving an accurate pressure source to the BOV.

I figured it was compressure surge. Where should the vacuum line be going because I think right now its going straight to the manifold. also should I have the bottom nipple hooked up or not, what difference will it make?

I just took apart my type-s today and there are 2 springs in it. one big and one small. Should both of them be in there or should I take one out??

Problem solved, there was to much spring pressure and as soon as I took the little spring out it worked just fine and a nice whoosh
