Governor limit!!!

Ok i was driving on the highway in my 96 LS integra and i got up to 100 and couldnt go any faster... I know its the governor but what do i have to do ta change that?? Do i gotta buy a whole new ecu or is it a piece or what?? Please explain fully!!! THANX!!!

what you want to do is dangerous and most all ECU chipping is not legal.

Your car is not made too go to 100 and you DAMN SURE shouldn't be doing that on public streets.

If anything I'd assume it's a fuel cut. I don't think there is a speed limiter on USDM cars. And with a LS transmission, you should get more speed than that. But then again there are many factors that go into getting a high top speed.

many people have tried and i think on a stock ls, its capable of going 120, i think some say they have gone 130ish, havent tried myself. A new ecu will solve that problem but a new ecu is not needed if your motor is stock. Its a waste if all you want it for is to gain topspeed.

your cars a bucket if it can only hit 100 ... i have a 96 ls and i hit 130 on the freeway one time cause i was late to work ... and not too long after i bought it when it was stock i hit 120 in it.

And my old 94 accord AUTOMATIC hit 120 before too ... and even my old 91 civic 4 door hit 125 yea it was downhill but ive been able to get it to 115 on the flats.

its automatic tho is that a problem??

yea the timing belt is off too. but oh well im selling it anyway and getting this 96 nissan SE-R pulsar turbo on 15lbs!! top mount intercooler, 3" exhaust, HKS super sequential BOV, ACT clutch and pessure plate, GREDDY e-manage fuel system, 255 walbro fuel pump, WRX hood scoop and 2000 Spec-V interior.... All for 4,500.
