My book is disappointing! Crap!

Alright, so I'd been working on a book for about a year. I put it on hold a number of months ago to work at my shop. After picking it back up and looking at it, I was kind of disappointed. I could see where I had wanted to go, but I had a lot of extra worthless chunks of story in there. So for the past two days straight, I'v ebeen cutting chunks and chunks out aand finding out I've got five times the amount of rewriting to do before I do ANYTHING with it. And I thought I was so close to done.... Seems like everything I look back at about my life just sucks.

Before anyone asks, the book is NOT an autobiography, but it isn't far off. I had two very close friends and our lives, especially mine, even to this day, has been amazingly crazy. I mean ridiculous crazy. Just check my threads in like OT and here. I do not make this shit up. For Example: In the past 6 months I've had over 4 grand stolen, I've had two people literally try to murder me, I've been through 5 cars, I've burnt through $30,000, I've owned and operated two seperate businesses, been to the ER 3 times, and been to jail twice. I shit nobody. And I will fax a dozen letters, tickets, and bank statements and get no less than ten witnesses on the phone and do whatever else to anyone to prove it.
...And that's just in the last 6 months.

I'll write what the book is about later if anyone cares. I'm just really pissed that I could have gotten so far off track and written so much bullshit that now I gotta go back through and fix EVERYTHING.

i've tried to write books too, but i got distracted after like a page. so that's awesome you have the motivation and time apart from ur crazy busy life to get that far. don't let it get you down that you have so much rewriting to do, you can do it :) and once it's done i promise to go buy your book

maybe as an idea you could write your book as a collection of short stories, and somehow have them all intertwine with each other. i don't know if that's possible or not, but that's why i'm not a writer.

not really. There's a serious point, I just wrote in too many of the stories that I wasnted to fit that actually happened during this time, but aren't relevant to the story. What really pisses me off is that I spent literally MONTHS agonizing over this, and now looking back I see a lot of bad writing and a lot of omission and a lot of renovating that I need to do and it's just kind of sad to see all that motivation wasted. especially in couplance with everything else. dammit i just wanna get one thing right!!!

Lol, I agree with qute, I can't get more than 10 pages into a book I tried writing before I lost track. Sad, but good on ya for going through with it. On that note, how'd you try to get murdered?

Also, Greyback, check your PM's

I give you major props for simply attempting to write a book, let alone being almost finished with it. I have the attention span of a bookshelf so...yea, a book is a little out of my reach. I'd buy it if you could get it published. Hell, e-mail us copies...
As for correcting it, just stick with it. Its a pain in the ass I know (term papers, haha). I'm sure it'll turn out great. Later
