Maybe purchasing a 96 2500

I am looking for some help in my decision making here. I have the chance to purchase a 96 K2500 with the 454 for $2000. It has 170000 mi but is in great shape and appears to be maintained. It is loaded with everything. I will be purchasing a camper here in the future and it would be a great vehicle. The questions I have are:
How can I determine the rear axle ratio? Is there an option sticker in the glove box?
What kind of mpg am I looking at?
Is the mileage too high?
Will I be looking at an engine rebuild soon?
A tranny rebuild if it hasn't been done already?

I haven't looked at the truck yet, I just want to reserch some of this first before I deceide. Thanks in advance.

I looked at the truck and it looks great. It has been well maintained. My only apprehension is it has a 4:10 rear ratio. What is the mileage going to be with the 7.4L? Probably less than 10mpg?

I have an '03 K2500 w/ the 6.0 and 4.10 rear-end and get roughly 9-12 mpg around town and 15-16 mpg HWY locked in cruise at 65 and a tail wind. These numbers don't vary much even loaded w/ kids and gear. Your numbers will likely be somewhere under these depending upon your driving habits, etc.
There should be an RPO list somewhere in this vehicle, mine is in the glovebox. As far as the age and mileage go, sorry can't help you much.
