mg circuit problem

when I start my 79 mgb, the tach and other functions (wipers, signals, brake lights, fuel gauge) work. As soon as I would activate one of the ancillaries, the entire circuit would drop out until I stop the engine, wait a few minutes and start it up then the same thing would happen. If I disconnect the voltage balancer right below the fuse box, the tach will fire up until I activate one of the other functions, the drop out again. Please someone HELP, I'm going nuts.

Disconnect the battery and check the fuse box clips for the fuse connecting the white/brown wires to the green wires. Clean the contacts and be sure the clips have enough tension to maintain a tight fuse connection. Clean the metal ends of the fuse. This fuse feeds all the components you mentioned. I don't understand your comment about a voltage balancer under the fuse box. I'm not aware of a voltage balancer in the MGB. Can you describe it?

Can you post a picture of the voltage balancer?
