What are your projects for 2006?

Yeah, I did this thread for 2004 and 2005. Now it's time for 2006. I think this year I've learned to be MUCH MORE conservative in my modeling goals. Stuff always gets in the way. So my goal is simple ... finish more than 2 models in 2006, which was all I was able to muster in 2005. The 2 kits for '06 will probably be a Zonda and a Tuscan 400R which I've been itching to build and finish.

Something else I have planned for 2006 (if time permits) is my 1:12 Mini Cooper project. There have been some killer 1:12 kits built here recently, so I wanted to build one too, and I found the Tamiya 1:12 Mini Cooper at Fry's on clearance for $25, so the project was born. I plan on lots of details using home-made photoetch parts and machined parts.

No modelling for me this year, I moved out from my old flat and I am curently at my mother in law :D, so until they finish my new flat (end of September), no modelling for me :(
Maybe I still do something in last few months.

Project to complete this year would be this:
http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/4932/albumpic3ff.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
It's 1/1 scale and is costing a small fortune but, as it's my baby it will be worth all the costs involved. I've got some other ideas for kits to build rolling around inside my head but the bike gets priority over all of them.

I want to get a Koenig 600SL, E30 BMW 323i, Ferrari Testarossa, Honda Prelude XX and Mazda RX-7 (FC3s) done. Which is basically my whole stock of kits. I don't think I can get 'em all done though, because I can only model in summer or spring... otherwise, it gets too humid for painting. Holland, sigh... If only I lived in Lebanon, or something.

I'm also building some Porsche's for the ACME show...but one of them is secret. I'm terrible about starting projects then getting side-tracked on another...I wouldn't even bother listing all that I've started, too embarrassing.

Secret *World Debut* Porsche
Secret *World Debut* Alfa Romeo
Secret BMW

Projects to finish:

Before reply I had to count my stocKpile: well a little shop in my room: alt least 78 1/24 item a couple 1/12 tamy and 3 resin multimedia 1/24 kit plus a little unbuilded lancia collection 1/43, so, some choise for '06.

Before all a little remark: during '05 I finish my pennzoil, my R34 xanavi and I begun a full-open R390, a special-project NSX and a delta. But this fu****g year I had damnt less work, so I nedd to think something for '06.

So: project:
-1 '80 contest montecarlo: I 90% design my own PE detailing set and I'm redy to begin build-up for January
-2 Amuse CarbonR: I'm quetly redy to start a thread, actually I update my cast skills and I still produce kind rims
-3 LMM R8 playstation france: 50% decals design work
-4 finish my R390 and start a thread also here (threadstart on other board)
-5 finish the delta
-6 delta 16V tarmac kind, so I'm working to upgrade my mill skills to mill delta rims
-7 R34 01 xanavi full open with engine
-8 also back to my first love: scooby, I've 2+1/2 mounted and 5 waiting

no other, I'm satisfacted in this way :iceslolan

Wow, ambitious lists. I wish I could be so productive.

My goals will be to finish the F40, finish the Mythos, and start and finish the Tamiya 635Csi for the 80's contest. If I finish these all, then I'll....

Oh, nevermind. I'll be happy to finish two this year, instead of just one.

But I would like to do:
1. An entry to the 80's motorsports comp (037 or 405 PAR-DAK)
2. 250TR Renaissance kit
3. I have an idea for a "Barnyard Find" Ferrari WIP
4. MAybe a Jaguar XJS

my main projects will to finish everything in my signature!

hopefully i'll be done by christmas though, then i have until new years eveish to finish everything i get for christmas! 2006 might not have much modeling for me because i'm going to be getting an internship and theres a 98% chance i wont be living at home and likely at my college. I don't think they would be too happy with overspray around the room, but we'll see.

I really want to build a 2006 Mustang GT and a Dodge Charger and either the new Viper or Corvette. But by the time it comes around to start them, who knows what I'll actually want to build....

First, No New Kits.
Then, all my old projects, well, at least the ones on the bench, that's five.
Tamiya New Beetle: Chassis & Interior done, body wearing clear coat!
Tamiya 300ZX Vert.: Body may need touch-up or just clear? The rest is all but done.
Revell Escalade: Going for a darker shade of FNP on this one, so the body may need a full strip.
Fujimi Ferrari 348 Spyder: Converting the TS spyder to the full vert. Still more body work and a scratch built vert boot.
(a little project): Something different, small, simple and which has had paint problems from the beginning.

Then there's the projects near the bench, a couple of Diablo's, a Ferrari F50, another new Beetle along with a classic Beetle...

And Then: (No and Then!) There's the 6 Ferrari's I bought this year alone!
:p

I will start by actually finishing some of my 2005 projects.

Have 4 or 5 half done, 1/12 240 Safari, Lancer WRC and others, plus about a dozen boxed kits in the closet.

Have to finish what I have and save some cash for some serious stuff on the 1/1 cars....a GT28rs is going to take up my pocket money for next year or 10 ;-).

The missus gets a bit stressed when I do both!

I'll be waiting for the Ferrari 206P Dino and 250LM build up. :iceslolan

As for me, if I can finish at least one of these model for the year 2006, I'll be very happy:

1) "Old faithful" diorama involving a Citroen 2CV.
2) Academy 1/24 Ferrari 250LM full detailed (I doubt this will be possible to be build in a year).
3) 1/24 Fujimi Nissan Stagea.
4) 1/24 Tamiya Toyota Supra.
5) 1/24 Toyota Bb.

What I really have to finish in the year 2006:

"Docking sequence" diorama for year end competition (non-auto related).

I’m more of a look at my stock pile and pull one out sort of guy. I’ve got to really think about getting the below done –

Tamiya Ferrari 2000 + SMS detail set
Revell 2003 GA + SMS detail set
Tamiya Ford Focus WRC 2002 + SMS detail set

Also need to finish off

Revell Cobra 427 S/C – 80% completed
Revell C5R + HRM transkit – 5 % completed

I also want to get some of these damn Calsonic Skylines at least on the model building table, currently got –

R32, R33 and 2003 GTr all waiting for TS-44 and large white Calsonic decals to be applied.

But did manage to build this year –

Tamiya Ferrari 360 Modena
Tamiya Subaru 98 WRC monte carlo
Tamiya Porsche Boxster
Tamiya Mercedes SLK 230
Tamiya Honda S2000
Tamiya 300ZX Convertible
Tamiya Honda RA 272 + Acu Stion detail set with metal turned funnels
Tamiya Nissan Skyline Z-Tune + Tamiya P/E dress up kit

So not a bad year. And all the above were built to a decent standard…!! Won’t get a lot done at the moment though, but I’ll make a good start a few months into next year when I’ve got more time free.

Pagani Zonda?! Where? I gotta see this one :naughty:

My building speed doesn't quite match how many ideas come out my head, :icon16: :disappoin so I don't think these will all be covered this year:

:evillol: 1/25 Mitsubishi Eclipse (finish)
 1/25 Shebly Series 1 (finish)
:iceslolan 1/25 69 GT-500
:smokin: 1/24 Supra
:naughty: 1/24 R34 with engine
:sunglasse 1/25 67 Vette Roadster

And if I get through any of that list I might want to start a sleeper Eclipse (scratch the stock body kit and put seats in the back, etc, and then build up the motor).

Secondly, I've got my eye on a new "TOP SECRET" Lambo kit in 1/43rd scale. . .

Oh and finish up my Countach and Miura that have been stored away since I moved back in March. . .

Currently in the works/definites for '06 completion
-1/24 Tamiya KPGC10 GT-R old school street drag style, L-series engine transplant, custom flares and 345 watanabes...Might even be done by the end of 2005. Have to detail the engine and finish the rear fender flares (I'm on my 3rd revision and the tyres still sit slightly outside :banghead: ). It WILL be badass.

-1/24 Fujimi AE86 Levin hatch, currently carving off the body side strips and fabricating wide front fender flares. Will be getting aoshima Longchamp XR4 or Yayoi Sakura stretchwalls...Which look FANTASTIC under the AE86 shell - perfect even. Can't wait for the rest of the stretchwalls.

-1/24 Aoshima Chiki Chiki skyline C110 2 door - need to BMF rear light surrounds, otherwise just need to find a lurid metalflake colour for it.

-A number of HR31 Skyline GTS-Rs, one "replicating" my 1:1 car, and a detailed calsonic Gr. A version (am fabbing IRS suspension and have built most of an R31 spec RB20DET-R). Have another 3 on the shelf too.

definite planned projects
-A rod. All I know is I want a track nose, a '32 3 window body, and firestone dirttrackers on the rear, satin black, And a Lincoln flathead V12. The rest? who knows. It will be "tuff", some old school influences, some new school, some street and some race.

well seeing as I got nothing done in 2005 except get started on filling the hood on my interceptor I dunno what i'll get done this year, plus i'll be moving soon and thats gonna put a damper on things.

what i'd like to try and finish this year are:
pro touring xb falcon(from interceptor kit)
initial d silieghty(needs paint)
tamiya r34 skyline(needs paint also)

what i'd like to start on this year thats in my current inventory:
replica of my car (fujimi sileighty kit)
replica of my friends crx (fujimi mugen pro 2 kit with sir front end and b16)
the amt ala kart track roadster idea I thought up 2 years ago

thats about it other than buy more kits off of yahoo japan, and buy lot and lots of wheel sets..lol

ah here we go again....

well ive had a crazy year to say the least. but somehow i managed to finish 3 kits (could be a record). out of those three i dont think one of them was on my list last here. :icon16:

well i guess with relocating and the loss of alot of my modelling stuff to Katrina, this will be a rebuilding year. replacing losses and fixing models damaged.

BUT, i do hope to build my Testors Porsche 356 Carrera, yes the super detail one tooled by Fujimi, are those pistons? and try and finally get down to ATL for the ACME meet, still need to meet you guys. thanks again Technoman for this kit. ;)

And if i can ill try to finish my Lotus 99T contest entry but the photo-etch got screwed by Kat..... ill try to clean it up.....

but who knows..... i hate this thread Malsheen.... i always start the year to optimistic.

After seeing some of the lists, I think that applies to most of us. The key is set the bar real low, then when you exceed it, it's a nice pleasant surprise. :iceslolan

Nice projects everyone. I see lots of Initial D stuff. Maybe that'll get me inspired to build Takumi's AE86 that I've had sitting around for 2 years. Steve, can't wait to see more of your 1/12 projects.
