The experience of a lifetime with #028

Hey guys, I just got through having the experience of a lifetime.
It all started this morning when I checked my PM inbox. A certain forum moderator informed me that a certain car I might be interested in had made its way to Symbolic Motors. Unfortunately, or fortunately I should say, the PM didn’t specify whether the car was at the showroom or the service center (two completely separate locations). I assumed it was the showroom and headed down there right away. To my dismay, the car was nowhere to be found. I asked one of the gentlemen working the showroom if the car was there but he told me that it was already on its way to the new owner. I was a little disappointed but I accepted the fact that this wouldn’t be the day I’d see my first F1 in person. He asked me what I knew about the car and we began chatting about #028, as well as the location of other F1s. He saw that I knew more about the car than your average enthusiast (thanks to this forum) and told me that the car wasn’t actually delivered quite yet and was in fact out getting smogged in prep for delivery. He then invited me to the service center to personally check the car out. Let me just say that an F1 is about 1000 times more beautiful in person than it is in pictures. I spent about a total of a half hour with the car examining it inside and out. I even got to sit in the drivers seat! It’s amazing how much smaller everything (but the engine) looks in person. Getting in and out (especially out) was a bit tricky, but techniques I picked up from the forum definitely helped out. I took a few pictures but they aren’t that great. The area around the F1 was a little cramped making it difficult to take wide shots. Overall, it was amazing and something I will never forget. Thanks Erik for the info, this definitely made my week…month…year. It’s too bad you weren’t able to make it down.

Hey guys, I just got through having the experience of a lifetime.
Yay!!!! :bigthumb: I'm so happy for you!!
It was awesome to hear how your initial meeting went. I'm glad you finally got to experience an F1 first hand. Now get back to your studying. ;)
Oh - one more thing:
Unfortunately, or fortunately I should say, the PM didn’t specify whether the car was at the showroom or the service center (two completely separate locations).
Actually, if you read it again, it does say "shop", but I honestly didn't know until I spoke to you that they were two separate locations.

:bigthumb: Congratulations on seeing your first F1 in person.
I still remember my first experience. I'm not one to get excited to the point where I'm pointing and chimping about anything.. but that 1st sighting will always be one of my cherished memories.

Do do they have #14 in the showroom now? I am thinking of sending a friend in to do a photo essay again!

Congrats on the experience! You're really lucky to have sat in it. Good thing you knew as much as you did thanks to the forums or else you probably wouldn't have seen it!
