Which dana combinations will work?
I currently have Stock D30Front/D35Rear.
Can I put D44 in rear without changing anything in front?
Ultimately, Is D44/D30 combo going to work?

I seem to recall some late 80's Cherokees came with 44's stock.
The key here is to get the same gear ratio in the rear as you have in the front. Most axles came with one of several available ratios. such as 3.23:1 or 3.54:1 etc, regardless of the axle design.
So long as the ratio matches, the 44 will work with the 30 in front.

Some 87-89 XJs came with D44s. They are getting few and far between though. Ive got one sitting in my garage waiting for the day I get time to check the internals and clean it up to put in my 96 XJ. Most D44s you will find come with 3.55 gears. Thats the standard for the 4.0 and auto tranny. A few will come with 3.07 gears. From the factory there is a metal tag on the diff cover bolts that tells you what ratio you have. If your gear ratio matches between the front and rear, the only thing you may have to worry about when switching out the D35 for the D44 is the rear driveshaft length. I believe the rear driveshaft for the D44 is slightly shorter than for the D35.
