riddle me this

What is red, running on all 6 cylinders, and probably has half the PA police out looking for it right now...


That's right, after months and months of dissappointments, I finally got my baby back on the road.

Turns out it was a short in the ECU, one of the injector drive transistors or something. A used ECU shipped from a junkyard in Rhode Island for $100 was all it needed.

So after an oil change, I just took it out for a few slow laps, followed by a very spirited run through 3 counties and my thoughts are as follows.

1) definantly needs brake fluid and the system bled
2) one tire seems to be leaking air a bit
3) alternator might need a rebuild because my lights are dimming at idle...but that maybe because I'm idling 1-200rpms lower than normal
4) downpipe gaskets are leaking
5) I REALLY REALLY REAALLLY missed boost!!! :iceslolan
6) I think I may have some boost leaks

But anyway, no CELs, no misfiring, good oil pressure, etc...so it looks/sounds good to me.

I already got a modded mini-S, a modded ws6, and a modded wrx that all want to race, I think the ws6 is gonna rape me, but the other 2 should be in my favor. I'll keep you guys updated

Well with all the problems I've been having I think I've gotten in liek 3-10 days of actual quality driving in the last 11 or 12 months. So hopefully this time it will last, although it has started to snow, so I'll be picking up a beater in January and taking her off the road again.

Why are you taking her off the road? You have God-wheel drive.

Congrats on figuring out your problem. Doesn't it suck having to make car payments on a car that you can't even drive?

LOL, I don't know if you were serious or not but, that seems to be a popular "bad person" car. It's either that or a buick regal. When you see a buick regal with a few people in it you instantly know it's bad news.

BTW good for you getting your car back. I bet it feels good just to blast down the road after having your car gone for a while.

haha it feels great. So much so, that I didn't even mind getting pulled over last night. Luckily the cops only saw me launch from a light and not my multiple earlier 'antics'. After I convinced him that I wasn't racing the Camry that was next to me (hahaha), but simply showing my friend what an AWD launch feels like, I got another warning after a few minutes of conversing, and was back on teh road. Just had my first race tonight, against a modded mini-s, I posted it in the SR forum.

I would be in jail with a bloody nose and bruised ribs if a cop saw me launch from a light...just the luck i have with cops... *sigh*

Kill the WS6 though, i want to read that story...
