Completed - Tamiya Nissan Skyline Z-Tune

I now present to you all my Tamiya Nissan R34 Z-Tune Skyline. The kit was a complete joy to build; the fitment is so precise you need to do nothing other then cut from the sprue paint and then fit, the kit is that easy to build. I actually completed this a few days ago, on my Birthday of all days. So nice birthday gift to myself..!! I’m now on annual leave until next year so thought; I’ve got to post this model for you all to see as it’s easily one of my best yet. Aren’t your newly completed models always your best yet..!! Strange that.
I painted the body with TS-17 and then cleared with TS-13, polished with Tamiya 3 step polishing system followed by two good rubs with finish compound. I then applied metal transfers, decaled and waxed with Tamiya wax and buffed to a very nice shine.
Under chassis was detailed with various Alclad II metal paints, heat stained with my airbrush on a low PSI using clear blues etc, X18 and washed in black ink then dry brushed with X11 silvers. Wheels were primed and then coated with 5 coats of X18 to give a nice soft sheen, and then decaled.
The interior was painted X18 with XF7 red. XF7 red on its own isn’t a great colour as it can look mucky. I’ve added 1 part clear to 3 parts flat red to make a slightly more glossy looking red. All sprayed, flocked the parcel shelf, added mesh for speakers on the parcel shelf and then added various P/E and pre-cut carpets from the Tamiya upgrade set.
Number plates, discs brakes and various other bits are from the Tamiya P/E set, and the P/E nicely completes the model off.
Sadly, this is now my last build for a few months, and perhaps one of my last lengthy posts for a few months as well as I’ve got a lot to catch up on with life at the moment. I’ll still take a quick look on here when time permits, I’ve spent too much time this week on here but just wanted to get this model completed as it was nearly completed anyhow. Been spending too much time model building and browsing around this forum. It’s been fun; I’ve learnt a lot, built a lot of great models and brought a massive amount for future building. Spent a lot of money as well….
But, enjoy my last build for this year and perhaps my last build for the first few months of next year. I look forward to re-joining you all next year around March 2006 where I shall continue to improve (I hope) my skills and posting my models for you all to enjoy. I’ve really enjoyed showing them all to you, and have taken a lot of pride building them all, and I’ve equally enjoyed viewing all of your models. Anyhow, enough of this please enjoy the Z tune, the best looking skyline (I think) ever produced by Nissan (NISMO).

Oh – Not sure if I should enter this into the AFMOTY contest. It’s only a Skyline after all said and done but the contest is for fun..!!

Gee thanks guys. I've just had a quick look to see if anyone replied and already many replies.. gonna miss spending hours on here, but I'm making time today...
As for the sidemarkers, the guide didn't ask for them to be picked out in orange so left them.
and yep Klutz, they won't get me down.. Although they keep on trying..

When did this one hit the forums...! Last I knew you were finishing off the Cobra... perhaps I'm working too hard.
Anyway, another great build mick, well done!
And I've gotta admit I really dig the silver colour.

Mark, I built it in between the cobra, it was a quick easy model. No real problems at all. i've not completed the cobra, too busy now with exam studies and what not..!!
