Replaceing stereo in 99 grand am

How much of a job will it be to change out the factory am/fm cassette stereo with a am/fm cd player in a 1999 grand am, any recomendations on a easy installing make and model............thanks

Hey,
It shouldn't be to bad at all. If I was you, I defiantly wouldn't pay anyone to do it for you. Very easy. Just go out and get any head unit that want. I would suggest a Pioneer if your just and average Joe who wants a little more control on there tunes. If your really striving for the best I would defiantly look into Eclipse.
As for installation, check with your local car audio shop for an adapter for whatever head unit you end up buying. Once you have that adapter, then its as easy as taking off the black cover around the control panel, unscrewing I believe 4 screws, unplugging the radio, installing the adapter for the head unit, then plugging in the wire adapter and plugging in the new head unit. Very simple project really.
Realistically your looking at anywhere from around 120 bucks to upwards of over 1000 if you want the best head unit.
