Homemade Cold Air Induction

My friend made a Cold Air Induction for his 02 Grand Am. It looks like pretty good. He bought a K&N filter and some rubber peice from a hardware store. He made the box out of metal and he took a peice of trunk gasket and put that around the top. Has anyone made a Homemade CAI for their Grand Prix? Im thinking about having him do one for my car but I want mine plastic. Anyone recommend what material I should use or anyway of making this thing work?

No. I took the easy way out and installed a Thrasher CAI. But here are some other ideas if you are limited to a beer budget:
