Firewall insulation pad for 1970 Elky

I have a 70 elcamino and I'm replacing the firewall insulation pad. I bought an REM replacement pad but it seems that in order for it to fit correctly, there are several brackets that need to be removed (on the driver's side) from the firewall. I'm lookin for some advice on how I should install this POS. Thanks.
