1995 Chevy Lumina Newly Rebuilt and won't stay running, THEFTLOCK problem?

Hello Everyone, Thanks for giving me a place to come with some help to figure this out. My "dearly beloved" rebuilt the motor in our 1995 Chevy Lumina. It will turn over but not stay running unless you manually pour gas into the injectors. It has been suggested to us that the reason for this is the theftlock on the radio. The problem is we do not have the code to reset it. Does anyone have experience dealing with this or have suggestions? We really need to get this car back on the road and even the chevy dealership wasn't much help. They suggested he take the radio out and look at the sticker for numbers on it but in my research I see that taking the radio completely out may compound the problem. Does anyone think it could be something else? He is an excellant lifelong mechanic but the whole "computer" thing is stressing him out completely. The car is getting spark and gas initially then something shuts it down. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

the dealership you called must be fools.

the dealership has a way of clearing the pass code on the theftlock system.

a buddy of mine had it done when he couldnt remember his pass code, and at the tune of $50 - the dealership cleared it for him.

call a different dealership

Theft code on the RADIO will cause the engine to not get fuel? The world is more screwed up than I ever imagined.

The radio will not cause the engine to die. The antitheft system won't either. First of all, i hope you primed the oil pump before starting, or at least applied cam prelube to the rod, main, thrust, and cam bearings. Secondly, check the oil pressure by installing a guage in the place of the oil pressure sending switch, located above the starter. If there is no oil pressure, the engine will not stay running because the oil sending switch controls the fuel pump. Check these, then post back results..
