Boxster S vs. Carrera

me personally would be the Carrera. the Carrera looks better and performs better, but i wanna see your opinions.

why would somebody take a boxster S over a Carrera? The Carrera is pretty much better in every aspect

if money werent a thing... carrera... but if money is an option... i would go for the s.. only b/c you could swap in a carrera motor.. .that would be cool... and who would know? think about it... boxster is everywhere... but who has one with a carrera motor... and ruf has done it... hmm...

How about a Boxster with the Turbo motor? Has RUF done that, maybe Gemballa? That would haul ass. Oh wait, why stop their GT2 motor in Boxster? THAT would haul Ass!

how about the GT3 in my prelude..HAHA keep dreaming!

i dont think it would fit.... and what is wrong with an h22 turboed? that would be the way man...
but i would take a carrera vert...

How much better does a Carrera perform than a Boxster S. I thought it was only marginally better....I would still rather it though, its a classic 911 :)

Next year it is going to be worse, the new 911 Carrera gets a power boost to 320 bhp and a new face a la Turbo and GT2.

No, no ,no. It isn't worse that the the Carrera is getting upgraded, it is that However posted before me sounded like they were Pro-Boxster S, I was saying that The Carrera will now be raising the bar in Performance. I was implying that thier will now be a greater performance gap between the two Porsches.

it really doesnt make sense to buy a carrera if the power is similar...
the carrera is much more of a status symbol though...
its tough to be unique when everyone in los angeles is drivin a boxster...

Carrera is the only way to go. The only reason to get the Boxter is that you dont have the money for a Carrera.

If one could afford both, one should get the Carrera. Its just too good to pass up. If you looked up sports car in the dictionary, you'd see a picture of a Carrera. The only reason people buy Boxsters anymore is because they cant afford a Carrera, but still want to be able to say "I own a Porsche." Its too old and there are too many newer cars that outperform it at smaller price.

The Carrera isnt the only car getting upgraded, the Boxster is as well. Theres also numerous spypics and rumors out there about a upcoming Boxster Coupe, meaning it will be lighter, and cheaper.

Carrera is the only way to go. The only reason to get the Boxter is that you dont have the money for a Carrera.

Mid-engined, arguably better handling than a 911. There are many good reasons to get a Boxster, especially the S.

I agree here. The Carrera is the choice of the purist, but the Boxter is a very tempting proposition. It represents a motoring bargin. I'm not goning to lie, I would buy the Carrera, but I wouldn't "not buy a Boxter", just because I couldn't afford a Carrera.

If the old Boxter is anything to go on, the handeling of the new one should be as good as an elise. So I would reserve judgment on it untill I had driven the new version.

Turbo Boxster. Yeah they have them. How does a 450hp boxster sound. Or 390hp with stock internals. Stock viper and Z06 drivers would commit harry carrie after they just got rocked by a boxster. I wish I had the dough to do this upgrade. Sorry to raise the dead mods, but don't lock this one down please. Here is the sight.
