Running Lean

My car is running lean under more than about 5-6 psi, i have an air fuel ratio gauge in it, and it when you give the car full throttle, its all the way into the green like it should be, but after my boost gauge gets over 5 psi, it goes all the way red....its really wierd....i have a 14b on it, but it was rebuilt about 8,000 miles ago so i dont think its that.... i have been told its doing this because its so cold out, and since cold air is denser more air is getting into the motor??..I was also told that a new fuel pressure regulator would fix the problem...what do you guys think?? and how exactly does a fpr work ??

Is it a wideband O2?

You would need a wideband to really find out what you air/fuel ratio is. I suggest you get a logger and show us exactly what's going on.

i didnt have it when it had the t-25 in it, but im still in contact with the previous owner, lemme ask him and i'll get back to you, also i noticed that you are in need of a 14-b, my buddy is building a 2g, and hes got a 90 tsi awd parts car, i believe it threw the timing belt at 160k and he got it for 600 bucks, the 14-b outa that is for sale, ill have to ask him what he wants for it...lemme know if you are interested

around 4000rpm your timiing goes to shit. What are you using to tune? Also, a 75% TPS mean's your not going WOT, try to get a log going WOT if you can, but don't let it run too lean. I don't know what the 1g 02volts are supposed to be, I know they're different than the 2g's.

Your friend is crazy. A 14b with 160k on it is worth about whatever change I can dig out of the sofa.
