my christmas presents

i have to admit ive been a bad boy. i pretended to be sick so i could stay home from school and then i went through the presents under the tree to see what i got. i know i should have waited but my curiosity was too much.

so heres my list of what i got

You suck dude. Heh..I never get models for that holiday. I remember peeking through the wrapping too when I was a kid.
I think I'm going to have to foward this thread to your mom though, so she can return all your presents. Hhaha...Nice um..stuff..

I went to the model store yesterday and picked some christmas presents wiht my Mom (yea I still live with my parents, got a year of college left and I'm 20) Tamiya R34 Z tune, some Tamiya Paints and Epoxy Putty.

I'm also trying to get the P/e parts for the Z too. And yea when I was younger I would sneak in my parents closet and find out what I was getting for christmas.

Just curious....what do your parents think of your hobby?

Fortunately, I don't need to worry about the wife finding out- as she's ordered it for me. Finally, my shop will be complete (well, more complete :rolleyes: )!

And my birthday isn't until the 19th....

i really don't know what i'm getting this year... i got all the major stuff i needed last christmas - nice digital camera, airbrush, compressor, bunch of PS2 games, and a lot of other smaller things including some models... all im really asking for this year is new skiing equipment and a biiiig long list of models.. my parents told me i'm already done and they didn't get me much that was on my list so i have no idea what to expect. i know i'm getting a least a couple models though cause they asked for some paints i might need cause they "make great stocking stuffers." :)

I know my dad thinks it really cool, but he is like that with everything I do. My mom's would rather me spend my money on model cars then my real 1:1 because she thinks models cars are a lot cheaper. TO some degree they are, but once you get to where some members are I think the modeling is more expensive. It doesn't really seem to bother anyone, my girlfriend even likes it because she can work on here scrapbook while I work on my cars.

Great way in ruining the surprise on christmas day i spose, i done this when a kid and its boring on xmas day when u open everything knowing what it is

my parents hate it.....because i never finish ANYTHING!

My dad has hundreds of models from the 50's-60's-70's in the basement that he built when he was a kid.

hahaha, nooo way my friend. while i am still a semi new modeler, and definately don't spend a lot on models, everything i have spent or received model related combined wouldn't even be the same price as any single modification I have done to my car other than a basic bolt on or two. Maybe half the cost at best.

My parents love the fact that I build. My dad loves cars, so he loves to see what I build and my mom likes seeing me do something worthwhile rather than playing video games or drinking.. I do enough of that at school. :lol:

lol, Use the fast drying glue like i do, it dries in seconds and is really strong!...
but yea christmas, i'd have to say that i'd rather it be a surprise, only with my family my mom and dad are seperated, and if i have one larger item on each then i'll pretty much get it. This year i'll be getting a digital camera from my mom with the odd small thing with it, and from my dad i'll be getting an airbrush kit...i'm hoping i'll also get some models too, preferably the Top Secret Nissan Skyline GT-R :biggrin:

well it worked out for me sneaking a peak because before i couldnt wait until christmas but now im really excited and cant wait!!!
