rear drive axle/pumpkin

I have a 97 s-10 blazer with a 4.3L, I do not know what size rear but when I had the back end jacked up this weekend I noticed that I could pull the wheel in and out on both sides about 1/16". I traced it back to the shaft being loose. My question is do I need a whole new/used rear drive shaft/pumpkin or can I just change the wheel bearings.

Thanks in advanced, Woody

You have a 7-5/8 rear. That said. You will always have some play in the axel shaft....If you do have bad axel bearings, they're easy to replace...
