oh the horrors!!!

i just got my tamiya supra the silver one with the engine well anyways i sanded all the mold lines wash it with dawn dish soap dryed it and let it sit for an hour. Well when i went ot paint it with my silver paint it started fine but when it started drying it got blotches of non metallicy areas and now i have to wait for it to dry and sand it all off.

But on a better note i also got one of those aoshima lowrider trucks and i already have it finished except for putting the windows in and painting the body and putting on the bumpers.

I just went and looked at it again and now the paint is wrinkling up

Dish soap is not the best thing to wash model car bodies with, they contain grease removal elements that can actually adhere to the surface and prevent the paint from adhering correctly.

Did you use primer?
Also, was it just regualr dish soap or did it have additives like some sort of moisturizer...I had some dish soap that reacted with paint once, not I just use regualr dish soap and rinse well with hot tap water.

Use toothpaste, works a lot better.

Skip primer and you take your chances. Could have been caused by a number of things, contamination, grain of the plastic reacting with the paint solvents...
