87' deville noise

When the key is on but the car not started there is a constant whirring sound coming from the front driver. I know that about every couple of minutes it's supposed to auto level but it is coming from below the air compressor leveling device that auto levels. Whatever it is it affects the ride of the cadillac.

This may be the auxiliary vacuum pump.
