94 grand prix se trans problems...

for the past two weeks i've had to jiggle shifter into reverse several times for it to "catch". the last couple of days, even the jiggling won't let me go into ANY gear. neutral doesn't even feel like neutral (cannot even push car when it reads NEUTRAL). could this be some sort of linkage problem? when i, in the past, have gotten it into gear - everything runs fine...but, now I can't even get it to catch. any help out there? :smokin:

I would bet that your shifter cable is stretched (if it's a floor shift) or the linkage bushings are worn out (if it's a column shift). If the shifter feels loose, then that would verify it.
