I have a 01 Cavalier with 195/65/15, which are stock tires. What affect, if any, will switching to 215/60/15 have on the car. ie. speedometer, fuel consumption, etc. Also will this tire fit properly in the wheel well.

u can fit up to 18s or higher. depending on the tire size... but i dont think that will hurt u by going bigger tire but same rim size. and it should not effect anything. go to the other post "rims questionnnnn" theres more info in there.

Thanks for the info.I was fairly sure it would be ok, however I wanted to ask people with more experience than myself.

Cheers

215/60/15 will be a very good fit sizewise, about a .7% difference in overall circumference. That translates to less the a half MPH difference at 60MPH.

The wider width and lower profile also should handle a little better then stock.

With wider tires you'll also get better grip in the snow, and deffinately better cornering on dry pavement. The side profile of the tire won't look much different because the second number (60) is a percentage of the tire width. So even though it's a lower number, the sidewall will be aproximately the same.
