a high octaine wet nitrous system

to prevent having retard your ignition just to run your nitrous why not just have your wet nitrous that draws a high octaine fuel insted of gas from your tank? give it a small electrical pump that feeds the system toluene or methanol 114 octaine and 126 octaine (equivilent) respetivaly. Not only would this eliminate the need for a change in timing, but would make the engine much safer to run, and the methonol would provide a significant power boost in its own right since it packs about as much oxygen as the nitrous does per molocule, and the higher the shot of NOS the higher % of high octaine fuel! if I were running a 200hp engine with a 200hp shot of nitrous the octaine would be 102.5 if I was using toluene and 91 octaine, and over 110 with methonol and 91 octaine. Plus you would eliminate the need for an a large aftermarket fuel pump you could keep you stock pump and just add a small electrical unit. It sounds so simple it is unreal can anyone think of a reason that this would not work or not be safe? As always thanks guys for your great imput.

that seems like a good idea, i can't really find anything wrong with that but i'm not that learned in the ways of nitrous and fuels. the only reason i can think of why people wouldn't want to use this is that they don't particularily want to have a second gas tank taking up room in the trunk and they don't want to deal with the extra electrical and piping hassle that isn't contained in the instructions. also you'd have to use more expensive fuel that's more difficult to get (especially if you live in canada). most people who install nitrous on street cars do so because they want an easy increase in power without too much trouble like that of installing a turbocharger or supercharger. i know this is a generalisation and i know there are many that do it because they want more power and do it properly and such, im just saying that most of the people i know of that installed nitrous did it because it's easy.

Dont think ot it as a second gas tank it would be about the size of your winsheild wiper fluid tank. How much fuel do you think you would have to add to a tank of nitrous anyway? I have not done the math on it but I immagaine that it would be only about half a gallon for a ten pound nitruos tank, the price of the toluine of methonol would not be that much since you are only using a relitivly small amount of it since you are not mixing it into your whole fuel tank. Sound better now?

I finnaly found somthing similar, a supercharger kit that included a methonal injector, it suplamented the stock fuel ststem with a high octaine fuel when the boost was on, it allowed it to run twice the boost that it could on reg 91 oct gas. Sound like my idea, yea thats what I thought. :-)

no it doesn't, it sounds like alcohol injection. it cools down the intake charger, the alcohol also adds some fuel but it's mostly the cooling effect.

No they advertised it as a suplamental fuel system, so you would not have to upgrade the stock fuel system in high HP applacations, How much alcohol it injects I don't know but I think the system was rated for 20 psi
