Hey i just got a 95 celica st 5 speed, and i would like to know what options there are for more power, i already have a short ram intake, but i would like to know what there is to do to get more power, is there a turbo kit made for this engine, or would it have to be custom. i am going to get some unorthodox pullys but i would like to hear you opinions.

This guy can give you an idea for turbochraging your 7afe, keep in mind though he didnt show any dyno results...not sure how much power can come up...

But, before you do, read the sections posted by 91celicast up there, bc theres also alternatives you can do.... like swapping w/ a 4agze angine first, then turbocharge.. or maybe if you prefer taking compression rate up by shaving off heads, I heard 7afe reacts well w/ head jobs.

igf ur looking for serious performance your best options are either a 4agze swap(supercharged 140hp) or a 20v 4age(20 valves 160hp, not in us)
other than that u can build a custom turbo kit but the 7afe is not that great of a platform.

what state do you live in btw? I mean, if you live in CA, better make sure it is legal with the law and what not... from what I found out, here in LA its only legal to swap with motor assembled after the year you car was made, and not older. I dont think theres any "after-1995-4agze" around...

i live in ohio, and they dont have emissions where i live so i can do what ever i want, o and that turbo the guy said it got 170 hp i think i might do a turbo on it, i was thinking t3 but dose anybody know what turbo would work good with the stock internals but without a ton of lag

If you swap a 4agze, it'll be better for the wallet, you can get a pro to do it...
swapping a 3sgte in, from what I found so far, takes enormous time (and $) and you already have to be skilled in swapping (pro-labor is too much $)... plus, you need much much more other essentials (transmission, ECU, professional tuning, etc) to make it run as good as you expect it to be. Unless you're sure that this "no-return-investment" will do you some good later and/or you're sponsored... otherwise its too much, and a lot of ppl had done this too...so. :P

a t3 wouldnt have that much lag, there actually not that big, a t4 or a t3/t4 comobo would have a little lag
