Blowoff valve on a roots blower? :eek7:
:lol2: :grinno:
Sorry dude, not trying to be mean, but putting a blow off valve on your ss/sc is absolutely pointless. It will not do a damn thing, and if you're doing it to make your car sound "cool", you'll end up looking like a clown to anyone that knows what your car is. Roots blowers don't back spool and create back pressure like a turbocharger or a centrifugal blower will, so I doubt it would even make any noise at all, even if you wanted it for the sound effects.

I was thinking that also. Not used for blowers.Blow-offs are for turbos to relieve pressure.

Your buddy most likely has either a Paxton, Procharger or another brand of centrifugal supercharger. These superchargers and designed almost exactly like a turbocharger, but are driven by the engine's belt like any other supercharger.
Since they are designed much like a turbo and feed are into the throttle body much like a turbo many people chose to add in a BOV which is a fairly good idea. As far as putting a BOV on a roots blower system, it's completely pointless.

all a supercharger does is blow air in, there is no preshure to release, there is no way, think about it.

as you probly know, spin tires real good befor you launch to make them sticky. And just play with the rpm's untill you get where you spin little or none and yet still get off good.

Actually, doing a burnout in the waterpit with the stock tires on the SS is a really bad idea. They are not made of a rubber compound that will actually hold heat and get tacky for launching. Instead, it will cause premature tread loss and tire failure, along with causing the tires to sort of "glass up", causing an even worse launch than if you did no burnout at all. Set your tire pressure to around 40 psi(50 psi is max on the Pirelli Pzeros) then launch either from idle, or 1,000 rpm.
