lemme think, GOTS2, see that yet? Spriggan is one of my faves, Metropolis is fun and great art.

Now say what you want, but I watched a movie connected to an anime and watched the anime because of that reason. And the anime rocked. But you can still just watch the movie by itself. Visions of Escaflowne, the opening scene is killer.

edited*YOU HAVE TO SEE NINJA SCROLL!!! I totally forgot about that one

Akira and Ghost in the Shell are kickass movies. I suppose you're talking about Samurai X, btw. It's a 6 ep. ova plus a movie. The ova's are better imo.

Edit: I just watched spirited away for the first time. Wow. Thats the only way I can describe it. It was amazing.

Spirited Away is a great movie, and yeah Ninja Scroll is too, btw Ninja Scroll has some hentai in it so might not want to watch that with your family or something. Other than that, the movie is awesome, pretty good fighting scenes and bloody too!

the rurouni kenshin OVA trust and betrayal is the best and since its a prequal you dont need to have watched any thing before

Did you ever think he might mean the movie X? as in Clamp's X the TV series, X movie and Tokyo Babylon. I saw X and I really liked it but I preferred the TV show. It's about angels and psychic powers, always a plus!

And the Samurai X movie is not the ovas but the one when they're in europe i believe and there's a secret rebellion going on. Great film and great art as usual.

:iamwithst Vampire Hunter D is always a good watch. On the subject of vampires, Blood: The Last Vampire has some of the best animation I've ever seen and is a good movie. The end is a little iffy but it was the movie that got me hooked so it has a special place in my heart.

You seem to forget the classic Fist of the North Star... I like the classic movies more than anything else (old school Vampire Hunter D, Akira, etc)... All the Tenchi Movies are unrelated to any of the series and they are pretty good too. Can't forget about Mononoke either.

"Laputa-The Castle in the Sky" is the best one that I can think of right now.

This is an Anime, and a motion picture. It is a multi part anime, but not nessesary to follow the episode you would be watching. Both are excellent! Though the first two are the best, i think.

try reading up here at Manga (http://www.manga.com/) they hav just about everything, including adult anime(just to be warned).

I'm an avid collector of Anime, and Asian films in general, hav any questions just ask.

I don’t watch that much to begin with. The only anime movie I own is GitS & it’s in my top 10 list of all time favorite movies! Hell I own it on VHS! :smokin:

-Millenium Actress
-Ghost in the Shell
-Akira
-Ninja Scroll
-Macross Plus (I know, I know -- technically it's considered an OVA in it's 4-episode version, but we'll just reference the movie cut for the sake of compliance.)
-Anything Miyazaki
-Vampire Hunter D (it holds a special place as the first real adult-oriented anime flick I ever watched.)
-Call of the Wild (animated version originally released by Toei around '81, adapted to English by Harmony Gold with later editions released by Vestron, GoodTimes Video, etc. -- I loved this movie when I was little, and still have it to this day. I never really considered it "anime" until I grew a little older and more aware of the style. An excellent watch if you can get hold of a copy.) http://cgi.ebay.com/The-Call-of-the-Wild-1989-VHS-Animated-Version_W0QQitemZ9123458564QQcategoryZ309QQssPageN ameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I would say Ninja Scroll. Then, movies by Hayao Miyazaki: Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away and Lapunta: Castle in the Sky would be the top 3 works of his. Metropolis is also good.
