My 2000 GT passenger window is stuck in the closed position.
The owners manual says "do not use the driver control in the down position while the passenger control is in the up position or window will stop at this time and will not operate" They don't tell how to fix or reset the control. anybody know how to get it going again??

First off make sure the child safety lock is not on

Was that window slower than the driver side, and has it ever seemed like it was getting stuck. I have a 2000 GT and the passenger side motor went out. If the safety lock isnt the problem, then i bet the motor is bad. Here is how you get it up. Take the passenger door panel off, and remove the plastic to get to the window. Usually 2 people make this easier. You still have to have the passenger window thing plugged in, and while you are pressing the window button up, lift up from the bottom of the window pretty hard, and it should go up with help. If that fixed the problem, leave the window up until you can get a new motor. I was lucky and found a passenger motor on ebay for like 50 bucks...they usually run over 100. Installing a new motor isnt that hard as long as you have 2 people. Just make sure that when you get the window free, you dont let it slide down into the door, or else you might scrape up your tint near the tweeter. If you have any questions I can message you more info. Good luck.

Just bought the car 2 days ago and can remember the window open on the test drive, seemed to work ok then.

the child safety lock on the driver door??

Yes there is a button that is above the switches for the windows on the driver side door. Press it and try to roll the window down

Great my passenger window is doing that. Something else I get to save up for to fix before it goes bad.

Yes, I've tried the button on the driver door above the others and it doesn't activate either switch to activate the passenger window.

Keep the suggestions comming, I'm open to all. If all else fails I'll take it bact to the lot I bought it from and have them do some research or replacement of the motor, switch, or whatever the cause. I thought it might be something easy like an overlooked switch.

Thanks!

check and see if the motor went, it happens and shouldn't be hard to replace if you can take your own door panel off, if you can't the dealership might rape you doing it, so careful

Has it been really really cold where you live when you tried opening the window? I know mine gets stuck when its really cold and a little ice forms on the outside, and it makes it seem like it's not working properly but it's actually just frozen.

I'm in California, it got down to 33 last night, it does'nt get much colder than that around here. It does not work at all, no motor noise or any click. Just like no power to the motor. I'll have to trace the electrical I suppose and find out wher the gremlin is. Thanks for the input.

so, if my 2000 gt passenger window runs slower than the driver window, the chances are, the motor is going to die?

not right away, but yes, it means its wearing down and will eventually go kaput, not really a big deal considering i don't think its that much for a new motor itself

dealership will have them, junkyards w/ eclipses in them will have them, auto parts stores SHOULD have them, shops that specialize in converting cars from manual windows will have them, I may have an extra if you want me to check and see if my friend has one off is totalled eclipse
