The transmission line going to the trans cooler in radiator, blew off and shot trans fluid out. I noticed trans started slipping, pulled over and found the hose that came off. Tightened the hose back up, and refilled transmission fluid, truck ran perfect rest of way home. Next day, dipstick reads very low, added 4 quarts to get it to read on dipstick ( ran the truck a few minutes before checking it to get it warmed up). With the truck still running i could hear some buzzing out of about where torque converter lives. When put into gear--nothing happens-- step on gas and it revs free, nothing transmitted to wheels at all. Turn off truck let set a few seconds, start back up-- everything fine-- engages solidly into forward gear and reverse. Drive around the block, buzzing starts to get a little louder, trans slips-- get in driveway and trans is slipping but there is no burning smell, fluid still nice and red. Shut off truck let sit a few seconds--everything seems fine again on restart-- takes a few minutes then buzz starts again the slipping with no smell starts again-- Any info would be greatly appreciated. After restarts the trans works perfect for about 2 minutes.

Make sure you're fluid level is up to where it should be. If it is either the oil pump is cavitating due to possible filter blockage....maybe change it out and re-fill with some conditioner and see what happens.....or the pump itself got ruined when you lost your fluid. In that case a re-build will be in order. Also make sure that fluid is flowing through those lines and back to the transmission. I'm no transmission expert, been a long time since I worked in a shop, but thats where I would start.
