I'd like to replace my fuel filter but have never done this job before.
I found some instructions on how to do it,but I don't understand this step.

>>>For fuel-injected cars, relieve system pressure by pulling a fuse or relay and cranking the vehicle per the service manual's recommended procedure.

Any tips here?

You just need to discharge the fuel pressure so it won't spray out of the fittings when you release them.

Just pull the fuel pump fuse, and crank the motor. It'll probably start for a second then die. That's it. You are now depressurized. If you want to check you can pull the cap off the service port on the fuel rail on top of the motor and depress the valve stem (just like letting air out of a tire). If mothing or very little comes out, you're good to go.

If there isn't a well marked fuse in the box for the fuel pump, you can pull the connector apart under the car where it goes to the top of the fuel tank. there's a little white "key" like a "T" you pull out, then pull the connector apart.

Then crank the motor until it's spent, like above.

I'm guessing you haven't dealt with the quick release clips on the fuel line before?

The lines end in a flare with little holes in it, the plastic clip inside has to be disengaged and the fuel line slips off the filter.

There's lots of different ways to do it, but I've always had no problem just doing them with my fingers.

I just put my fingers over the holes and squeeze real tight and push the fitting towards the filter, and you feel it unlock, then pull the line off.

My '97 had one quick release and one threaded fitting (brilliant!) The threaded (metal) side of the line had an o-ring on it that leaked real bad when it went back together. Had to go get a new one.

Thanks for replying,man!
I managed to get the old filter off and had no spewing, just some drippage.
No leaks and car runs fine!
