i know this is the wrong forum but it didnt seem to fit any were else coz noone would read it.
i was reading a car magazine the other day and it says on the bugatti veyron "the engine actually produces near 3,000 hp, with about 1000 hp being used in the cooling sytems and about 1000 hp being used in the drivetrain"
so only the bugatti veyron engine(if the stament is true) is 33% effective to the road, i think this is really crap engineering and the price they are charging is disgusting, it may be the new worlds fastest production car, and have the biggest engine with the most turbos but it is crap in my opinion!

Jesus Christ...1000 HP on the air conditioning?! That'd be like a fucking tornado in your car.

I say get rid of the cooling system for fucks sakes... that is, unless by "cooling system" they are referring to engine cooling rather than A/C.

I do think thats what it means. But yeah 33% of the engine actually being used to move you on the road is kinda bad.

i dont believe that engine makes 3000bhp.
it makes 1001bhp and that's subject to about 15-20% loss through drivetrain and about 3-5% driving other things like power-streering and water (cooling) pumps.
i dont think what the magazine published is true, manufacturers connect engine to engine dynos, which means they get larger bhp figures than using a chassis dyno because there is no drivetrain loss.

Well I don't know what the hell they're talking about but if they're saying that the engine is 33% efficient then yes.

Sounds like a load of shit to me.
There's no way you'd use 1000HP in a cooling system.

Yeah, I doubt ANY cooling system could use 1,000 hp. Approximetly three and a half LS1's power to cool an engine doesn't seem possible to me. If they designed a car that needs 1,000 hp just to cool it, doesn't sound like a very good design in the first place..

do you really need a 1000hp??? meh...
