Is there a 'Wheel Interchangability' list available?

I had some snow tires on steel rims for my son's Ford Aspire.
The car was junked (for variuos reasons) and the 13 inch snow tires
were sold.
BUT - I was asked if those wheels would fit another car's four hole
pattern. I obviously had no idea and it bothered me that I had no way
to address that issue.
How does a wrecking yard or a tire dealer answer those questions?
They obviously have a 'compatability' or 'cross-reference' list.
They can tell which wheels will fit which vehicle...
My question is - are such cross-refernce or compatibility lists
available to us unwashed public types like me ?
Does anyone know of a web site containing such lists?

Team Swift (http://www.teamswift.net/index.php) is probably the best Swift/Metro site in existence and by a considerable margin!
Most of the folks here are also members there.
Search for your answers before asking as the 'in' crowd can be a bunch of a$$holes on occasion but the amount of information there is incredible! :evillol:

I posted here first since I had been on it often.
I did do a rather extensive "Google" search for this topic, but did not find anything.
Most likely, I don't know the right 'key words' to do the search.
I don't know what the jargon is for what I am looking for.
I also posted this on the general AF forum [Wheels & Tires] asking
the same question hoping to get a wider audience.
On any forum or newsgroup there are always some butts, however,
I just ingore them - a butt is very obvious. And being a butt is
SO EASY.... I've been one my share of the time!

I've never seen one that actually lists what will fit what.
Everyone who has a database set up (Junkyard, Tire Shop, etc...) will basically just filter by ET, Hub, Center, Bolt type.
I've seen lists compiled for certain makes/models, but only after long hours of searching, and really only within sites such as TS like listed above.
Most manufacturers won't boast that their wheels fit on another make of car, so any of these lists would be unofficial, and in my mind not reliable.
