replacing factory stereo

hi i have a 96 s10 auto ext cab i cant get the dash panel over the gear selector in every gear is there another way.

there are two bolts/nuts holding the steering column to teh dash, you can loosen those with the shifter in lo/1st and see if that helps ya. you might have to do some diggin under the dash to get to em but theyre there.

thanks man ive tried that already tho and the column wont come of the 2 bolts hold it up, is there another way

you can always just drop the steering column completely.
