Hi everyone. I went into an autozone and these two codes came up:
P1131-Inusff. Switching control valve Sensor Lean
P1000- Rediness test not complete
I'm guessing I need to change an o2 sensor.I guess bank 1 sensor 2? My 97 Conti has 4 of them. I really do not feel like spending over $300 changing all 4 of them. W/o a voltmeter, how can I know which one to change? Any educated guesses? Thanks for your help in advance.

A 02 sensor code does not say replace the 02 sensor.
It says check it out. Different codes use different check out repair procedures.
In your case if it is a 97 lincoln cont. with a code 1131.
The engine is running lean.
Possable causes is fuel pressure or egr system or vacume leak in the intake system or even a maf sensor not reading right.
What engine?
If a 4.6 check your pcv valve and pcv valve hoses and lines to the intake real close. Feel and eyball them and look over real good for soft spots or holes in the rubber parts.
Check fuel pressure and fuel filter.
Check for air leaks between the maf sensor and the tbi.
Look the air intake hoses over for cracks and holes.
Forget the 02 sensor and Think eng is running lean why and it will come to you.

Thanks for the tips MT....will check it out once it gets a bit warmer here in MA. I rather not spend all the $$ changing O2 sensors for the heck of it. I'll check the pvc hoses, etc since I cleaned the MAF sensor out recently. Had a code for that too. The check engine light comes and goes. Right now check it's off. After I drive a while, sometimes it comes back on after 30+ miles. Then off,on etc.
I guess it's easier to check the hoses and replace some, it's cheap enough.
Thanks for the response and Happy New Years everyone!
