Hi. First off, I am new to this forum and hopefully someone can give me insight into this problem.
We purchased a 98 Rodeo with 70,000 miles from a local Honda dealership about two months ago. A couple of weeks ago I noticed it took a few attempts to start the car when the engine was cold.
Then this morning I was driving and thought I hit a rock or pothole, but then discovered it was my car either stalling or bucking or whatever. Not sure how to describe it.
I know I will have to take it in to get it checked out, but wanted to know if anyone has had similar problems or knows where the problem may lie. Btw, my husband knows little or nothing about cars so I am basically on my own with this. UGH!

Sounds like a bad intake manifold gasket. Real common on these engines.

I started having bucking problems this week. I recently had the plugs replaced, oil changed, and radiator flushed. The ATF was checked and all was fine. I also had my mechanic check the IMG and he stated it had no leaks. Reached 110K on my 2000 4wd 3.2L. Strange enough, no CEL!! Joel - could it be a bad IMG or a slip of the Tranny?

Just my two sense but if you do a google search for isuzu rodeo bucking, you will fine an amazing story that started because of a bad ground to the ECM, the reason for no codes, the ECM was reset everytime the ground was discounected

I had no CEL on my and the dealer said it read some misfire codes caused be a bad intake manifold gasket (the only thing that I noticed was a slight fluxuation in t RPM at idel; like 50-100 RPMs).
