95 Camry LE starter

Sometimes i get a single click when I turn the key, and have to do it several times before it will turn over. A few times I have had multiple repeating clicks as I hold the key forward turned, but rarely. When the engine is warmed up, can start again easily after brief stop. Do I need a starter, contacts, or might it just be a short?
