No display on radio (04 EX manual)

A friend of mine has an 04 Accord EX (manual) Coupe and for some reason the display on the radio is very faint. (really dim). We've tried to adjust the dimmer control but nothing happens. I've even tried to tap the dashboard thinking there's a short or something and nothing happens.
Any suggestions on wht could be the problem?

Sounds like a display module. If the car is still under warranty, take it to the dealer. Otherwise, it might cost you $150 plus costs to remove the radio.
