I'm not up to speed with car audio systems, so any help would be great.
I have a Jeep Wrangler (2 6x9 in front, 2 5" in rear). It all started a few weeks ago. When I put on my turn signal, the speakers would "pop." I couldn't tell if it was the front or rear....when attempting to test it, I noticed that the fade (F to R) selector on the radio wasn't working.
I removed the 2 rear speakers from the soundbar (was going to buy new, for no real reason). So, only listening to the radio with front speakers for a few days....driving around, and suddenly the speakers crackle like crazy, there is a very loud POP, and light smoke (w/ bad smell).
Not sure if I only blew the speakers or something more. Since this happened, I re-installed the rear speakers (to see if I only blew the front 2)....but no sound from those either.
At this point, not sure what happened....could I have damaged the radio somehow?
I have to get this worked out...I'm in my car most of the day.......the silence is maddening...brain hurts from thinking too much.

sounds like your head unit is toast.

The radio has power and can pick up stations...still the head unit?
Do you think I could have blown the speakers at the same time?
