Ugh, we need another Murc kit like a hole in the head . . . Wish they would concentrate on some of the obscure Lambo's that have yet to be made like an Espada, LM002 or god forbid they give us a 350 or 400GT! :disappoin
That F50GT is lookin' mighty fine though!

Exactly, an Espada would be the business. I think kit manifacturers keep making models based on the same car because it's cheap; they already have a murcičlago mold, all they have to do is alter it.

How many models has usually a limited production series? I'm from Spain and here it's difficult to get Fujimi kits unless I buy them from some online shop or eBay :(

That F430 looks decent, not as wonky as the Revell one I've seen in pics. I hope there's enough parts under the engine cover to not require a Tamiya kit to look right. And I sure hope the "optional parts version" has the right sport seats/wheels as the illustration shows.
Hate to say it, but a Murcielago Spyder is going to sell a lot better overall than the more esoteric Lambos. Sure, I want them too but I also want the model companies to turn a decent profit  The rims are sublime.
I never really liked the Espada; always looked a bit fragile-the same glassback styling looked better on the Maserati Khamsin. I guess a model that had parts flying off of it would be quite a replica  Now the 350/400 GT I'd go for in a heartbeat. LM 002 kits have been made, though I don't know about scale or detail. It's a truck anyway

That seems most logical, but in actually thats not where a lot of the expense comes from. They still need to make a new mold, which is the most expensive part. Yeah they can reuse the molds for a lot of the interior, engine and suspension parts, but the body mold is the most complicated, which they can't simply alter - a whole new one has to be produced. They just save a lot of money on the initial designing of the components. When a whole new car is made, probably 97% of it has to be completely redesigned which can also be somewhat expensive, especially if it requires finding an example of the car and the owner willing to allow it to be measured (dunno how that design process works exactly though).

They could have sent that F430 model to any number of ACME members who build stuff like this regularly (Veyron, CADguy, Mach I 2003, some idiot named Zoom Zoom  ) who would have made it look better
They could have sent it to 360spider and it you guys would have bitched that it was pics of a real car and not a model
They didn't pay attention to some basics like blacking out the edges of the headlight covers, doing panel lines, etc. so it looks a bit unfinished. The pics aren't all that great to begin with. I can tell from what I see that it will look just fine when built with care. Looks no more toylike than the Maranellos or Lambos.

Love the Murcie Roadster as is....the 430 however I don't... so I'll use it as a base for something hopefully more interesting like I did the 612.

...That link to the scratchbuilt Gallardo... wow, that is some intense scratchbuilding and a desire to make a model. If I had the determination to do something by myself to this degree, i'd already earn a Phd. and contribute something useful back to society. arrgh.
This is one of those moments I froze and spewed hot tea while checking up a great link. I can't remember if I froze then spewed, or spewed then froze realizing that my keyboard will never be the same.
Happy modeling,
Vincent

I think all models are limited production. They are not going to be molding that kit forever, they could limit it to a million copies and it would still be limited production. As far as I'm concerned that means nothing.

The scratch building talent some people exhibit disgusts me! :crying:
Take a look at this guy's page! Nearly everything he builds is scratch built or modified so much it constitutes scratch built . . .
Like to get my grubby lil' hands on that Canto . . .

Is the F50GT a resin kit ? Look to good to be Fujimi.
The F430 look like a toy :(
Fujimi doesn't make any resin kit. They just distribute someone else's (most likely Baracca's).
As for the F430, they didn't learn from the mistakes in Murcielago and 550, the windows look pushed in. Another cutting and sanding job...
But the engine looks descent, and you can't really see much if the hatch is shut, so I think it'll be okay.

It's a different kit w/the BBS style rims and sport seats instead of the standard F430 kit's 5 spoke rims and standard seats.
I'm glad I'm getting the optional parts version...looks pretty sweet. Even if I do steal the optional parts for a 360 Modena Challenge "clone"

Looks like the wheels are similar to the Challenge ones (thin seven double spoke style), making the conversion easy, and virtually eliminates the need for the Acu-Stion wheel set. :)
