Help! Auto seatbelts broke and now work again

I got into my car today and switched it on. The seatbelt didnt come back as it normally does and then the seatbelt light began flashing and it beeped once/sec. I had to go somewhere important so I turned up the stereo all the way to drown out the beeping. After getting where I needed to go, (and being pulled over for not having seatbelt, no ticket cause I was wearing the lap one) I got into car and headed home and now the seatbelt worked again. This has happened once before and it is really strange.

Any comments / Suggestions?

Take it to a Honda Dealer, they must under law fix the seatbelt if it goes faulty as its a big saftey issue regardless of car age. My seatbelts went on my crx last year, and they had to fix it for free.

what happens if they dont reel in? on my hatch the seat belts are on the door and they dont reel in and hang there. When someone shuts the door they metal parts gets jammed and chips off my paint, any clues on what to do?

SWEET! I was worried that this was going to cut into my sub fund.

lol mine did that too....except mine didnt chip my paint, it tore a couple bigass tears in the door panel :angryfire
take it to the dealer, they fixed mine for free when they were like that

Just out of curiosity, what are some of your tickets for. I am sure i am not the only curious one

Honda is the ONLY manufacturer, SFAK, that warrants ALL seat belts on any car ever
produced forever.....FOREVER.........Talk to your dealer and tell him you know it is so.
Collateral damage may be - will be problematic - so pay attention, and fix them early.:frog:

for some reason the 18th is slipping my mind now, but its there somewhere, im only 20 BTW so i racked these up in under 3yrs of driving.

By the time I was 20 I had:
1) Careless driving
2) Exibition of speed
3) Speeding (various including 85 and accelerating in a35)
4) DUI
5) Improper turn
6) Failure to control vehicle
7) Numerous and sundry safety violations (lights, sound, height, etc.)

Not trying to one up you, the penalties are MUCH stiffer today.

I grew up in a time when if you didn't have a beer between your knees when pulled over,
they thought you were on drugs. "You've been drinking, I am going to follow you home."

I do however have 2 accidents. The first one happened 1 day after thanksgiving 2001, I was coming out of a corner on a rural road, and a car was on the wrong side of the road, and I swerved onto the shoulder not to get hit and in the process went into a ditch. I was told by the cop that came to the scene not to report it because there was no way I could prove another vehicle was involved and the insurance would classify it as my fault.
The second accident was 3 days later. I was in my parents 91 ford bronco and was making a right turn from a stop. I came out and in the process got sideswiped by a 98 civic sedan. (no mods, AT) The bumper of the bronco was pulled out but no body damage, and on the civic the passenger side window broke, and the rear door panel ripped off. My insurance only went up $200 / yr because of my good driving record so far and the fact that I was on the good driver program (3.0 minimum)

Stuff I have been pulled over for

Evading a drunk driver checkpoint (I made a left turn onto a residential which was planned, I was heading to wal*mart)
80 in 60 (cop got another, more important call)
right turn on red without making complete stop (dunno why I got off this one)
not signaling while making right turn into parking lot (warning)
Some other BS ones I cant think of. I got hella lucky on the 80 in 60 though, that one would have sucked

you want to talk about tickets......my first year driving I had these:

1.Excessive Speed 124 km/h in a 50km/h zone --Mini Truck
2.Excessive Speed 200 km/h in a 50km/h zone --this was my Turbo Celica
3.Four Parking Tickets.....I have a problem reading signs
4.Illegal Left Turn --This is the only ticket in the 4G

got pulled over today, was going down a local highway and a cop pulled out of a gas station right in front of me (motorcycle cop, no siren or anything to warn me) to pull over someone else. Not realising he was a cop, I instinctivley honked and then realised "oh shit thats a cop". He pulled over and slickly pulled in behind me and pulled me over. He asked me for all my shit (drivers license, proof of insurance) and then asks me why I honked. I says you pulled out right in front of me. He says I was pulling someone else over. After talking to him for a while he let me off because he realised that I was honking instinctivley and not because he was a cop. (Like he could have really given a ticket for that one)

Suprisingly he didnt say anything about my clear front shit or my exhaust.

& the best yet........ i got kicked out of a city by police (they told me to leave or they would impound my car.....then they followed me 2 the Hwy as i left town):flipa: :finger:

I know this thread's about auto seatbelts but now we're talkin about tickets. I haven't gotten any tickets in my 91 hatchback, but I get pulled over every couple weeks. They rarely see me doing anything wrong though, because I have a radar detector. It's a nice one that picks the pigs up from pretty far away, cost me $200. I'm sure it's saved me much more than that in tickets. I've had some really close calls though.

A while ago there was a problem with street racing in my area and I was going 60 in a 30 when I wasn't supposed to be driving past 9 o'clock. There were 2 cops on the other side of the road with no radar on, but it was obvious I was speeding so one of em whipped around and came after me. I turned onto a side street and made 3 more quick turns, a left on a red light, then I sped home. I know it was stupid but I did it without thinking. I couldn't believe I got away.

My brother's gotten a lot of tickets when I was with him. Last week there were about 20 nice cars at every stoplight, lining up and racing. A cop pulled in front of everyone and people were driving over the curb to get away. He took a left into a parking lot and the cop left everyone to go after him. He got tickets for a cracked windshield and avoiding an intersection. He always gets the speeding tickets reduced because we have a lawyer, but he's still gotten his license taken away twice. One time we were going 115mph in an 87 ford tempo. He slammed on the brakes when the radar went off and the cop got him doin 87 in a 55. Another time he crashed my dad's nissan altima and got a ticket for excessive speed and racing because the neighbors came and told the cops on us... bastards

What city did you get kicked out of? Anyway, I got pulled over on 121 (silverado trail) near the beacon station. Also where was 110 in a 55, I gotta give you props for that one.:bandit:

i got the 110 ticket goin 2 Rancho Cordova from Napa..... it normally takes like 1hr 45min........but i made it in 55min..... at the time i had a brand new 95 civic coupe

Rancho Cordova eh? Hitting up Honda Acura Parts werent you. Isnt the speedlimt 65 om 80?

in 95 it was still 55mph...

actually i was tryin 2 get to a store before they closed to pick up my future wifes wedding dress....

i traded in my civic 4 a new 98 4runner with all the goodies to tow my jetski......... the honda just wasn't powerful enough...... 4 my trip to Lake Havasu

Yea, thats understandable. 4runners are pretty tight, Please tell me you actually take it off road. I hate all the mallrunners running around everywhere.

hell yeah... i never thrashed it but there were plenty of places i had to launch that had no ramp or camping spots in Shasta that u could only get to with 4wd unless u carried all ur shit

Nothing makes my brother's car stand out, that's why I couldn't believe he went after us. All the other cars had ground effects and rims and neon lights, he just has a tan 91 accord with nothing done to it yet.

cop probably thought your brother had an engine swap and his car was a sleeper. But i agree, it is unusual that he went after the stock car rather than one with hella shit he could have gotten for.

You could also say that because your brothers was stock, that they singled him out because his car stood out among all the riced out ones.
