scratchbuild question

I'm currently moding a car a bit with milliput, but what do you guys do when you notice that there are a some little imperfections in it. Do you use a tiny amount of milliput and then resand and reprime it, or is there a magical solution that smoothes out imperfections.

Have you tried smoothing it out with a wet finger?

I have found that this helps a lot although you will never get it perfectly smooth first time and will need to re-putty and re-sand a "couple" of times :)

Some thiners do thin putty so try to delute it a bit and just fill the holes with that deluted putty by wide brush. I use Tamiya basic+Testors metalizer thiner.

I simply cover cured milliput (imperfections become during curing) with putty (Tamy) and sand it until I can see white milliput: grey putty will fill all flaws, then prime, check and, where necessary, reputty, resand, reprime, recheck, rereputty,re:good luck :iceslolan

I sometimes use a scratch filling primer applied with a toothpick or a needle to fill in tiny imperfections. Just spray a little into the cap of the spray can and transfer it from there.

I try not to spray it directly onto the model as it fills in details quickly. Just a dab here and there, followed by a light sanding to level it out with the surrounding surface once it has cured completely.
