Well last night while driving with the wipers on, i hit a bump and my drivers side wiper stopped working. So i opened it up today and the linkage is shot. I went to pepboys and the guy working the parts desk said they cant get em and he had a hard time trying to find one for a friend of his. Do you guys think i can get the part from st charles or is a junk yard going to be my best bet. Or are there any other fixes?

Mike

So you can buy the plastic sokect for the linkage to the motor, but can you buy the socket just for the drive side. I'll call the dealer today.

It could be the wiper arm hold down nut. Pop off the black plastic cap with a small screwdriver. Use a 12mm (I think) wrench to tighten the nut. Could be loose. If that's not it, then replace the linkage. I just did mine last month, and the new dealer parts weren't costly at all. Under $20 per side. One of the sockets has to be replaced with the linkage, it's not a separate item. Just like the above-mentioned thread said, it's not a difficult repair, I screwed mine up last month by not breaking ice away from the wipers before turning them on. The ball and socket parted ways. Back to normal now.
Good luck.

That's only for 1st Gen Rodeos, 2nd Gen owners have to buy the entire linkage assembly :screwy: for about $100 IIRC.

For my 99 stcharles is shipping the whole linkage assembly to me for 45 dollars. Not bad considering my local dealer wanted 66 plus a fee for ordering for me. Im just hoping it really doesnt rain and snow like there saying on sunday. Those guys at stcharles are really nice as well.
